MSc Strength & Conditioning

I’ve been fortunate enough to have spent time working with Elite Level Athletes, particularly in the sport of Soccer where I’ve previously worked with Middlesbrough FC and at a Football Association Centre of Excellence. I’ve also spent extended periods of time working with international athletes across a range of sports. As a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA), with a Master's degree in Strength and Conditioning from Teesside University; I understand how to utilise scientific principles to help people achieve their goals; whether it’s performing better on the field, or just trying to get in better shape. As well as working as a Strength and Conditioning Coach, I have held a position as a Lecturer in Sport at Teesside University before my return to Ireland.

Having worked with athletes from as young as 6 years old up to the more mature age groups, I’ve developed an indepth understanding of the stages of athlete development. I specialise in how to safely and effectively progress training for individuals, no matter what age or condition they are in.

Outside of elite sport I’ve also spent time working working with a wide variety of clients; from recreational athletes to people who just want to get a little healthier and fitter, to people dealing with severe levels of obesity and its many side effects.

The great professional links which have seen Colin establish Physio Central together with in depth knowledge of injury and a commitment to work always within the scope of current best practise ensure clients of all levels benefit from clear guidance and re assurance on the rehabilitation journey. The Gym setting at The Strength & Conditioning centre has become an increasingly important rehabilitation tool, especially for those coming close to full recovery.
